Here’s What to Expect At God’s 4th of July Party

There will be a lot of 4th of July parties this week, but the one I’m looking forward to is God’s 4th of July party. Celebrating the birth of our nation always gets me excited because it gets God excited.

Why? Because the day we became a nation was the day we were included in the guest list of one of God’s biggest international celebrations.

He’s planning a party, and those who know the Nation Maker are included.

Here’s what to expect at God’s celebration:

Who will be there:

A lot of people! I mean really, really a lot. More than you can count.

And a huge diversity! People from every nation, tribe, people group, and language will be assembled together in one place.

Where:

Heaven—We’re gathering before the throne and in front of the Lamb. Don’t be late!

When:

Date to be announced—sometime in eternity future.

Attire:

White robes. Palm branches as accessories.

Decor:

Rainbows of color! Can you imagine what it will look like with banners and flags waving from each nation and tribe represented?

Program:

Worship!

After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.

And they cried out in a loud voice:

“Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb” (Revelation 7:9-10 NIV).

You are invited:

No cover charge. This party is completely on God’s bill—paid by grace. Please RSVP via John 3:16.

I hope this 4th of July reminds you of the coming Great Celebration where all the nations will gather before the Lord who called them into existence.

Kinda makes you glimpse the bigger picture doesn’t it?

I hope your 4th of July celebration includes Jesus.

See you on Thursday, Susan

Your plans? If you are an American, what are you doing to celebrate the 4th of July this year? I’d love to hear about it in the comment section below.
